DMF?
Dawn Makers Films is a film production company based out of Charlottesville, VA founded in 2022. The company focuses on multimedia collaboration with works such as dance film and music videos.
Our Story
Dawn Makers Films is currently working in conjunction with Powerline Pictures on the feature film "Leaving Paradise". Leaving Paradise is an independent feature film that explores identity and sexuality in the American west. The film centers queer college students living on a ranch in Montana during the lockdown summer of 2020.
Dawn Makers Films was founded in the summer of 2022 by Bella C Sonen. "The Color Grey" (2022), garnered selection to 11 film festivals internationally and spurred the project forward.
Now the company works with various collaborators across the country on short and feature films. The goal remains to create independent art that fosters community.
Dawn Makers Films has produced a variety of music videos and short films. Past music video collaborations include Acelia, Anya Movius, and The Pansies Band. You can find DMF projects on youtube.
